Vowels and Maatras

LESSON 8

In the class on January 14th, 2011, we reviewed all the vowels and looked at how they are modified or the "Maatras" when they appear in the middle of the word for the first 10 vowels

Homework:

1. Write the maatras for the 8 vowels listed above 100 times. Please remember to pronounce the words while writing.
2. Please revise the numbers from 1 to 17. You should be comfortable saying the numbers as well as writing the numerals in Sanskrit.
3. We will also continue introducing ourselves and learning the meaning of our names. To make it interesting for everybody, as each of you introduce yourselves and explain the meaning of your names, if you can include any anecdotes or associations about your name it would be wonderful.
